Dr. Thomas Harvey is a fellowship-trained anterior segment eye surgeon and the founder of Independent Vision Group and Independent Surgery Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. With more than 20 years of surgical experience, he has built a reputation for combining advanced techniques with a patient-first approach, guiding individuals through every step of the process, from initial evaluation through surgery and beyond.

Dr. Harvey earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2000 and completed an elite fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2004, one of the country’s most respected ophthalmology training programs. He has practiced as an anterior segment surgeon since 2005 and founded Independent Vision Group in 2020 with a clear mission: to provide patients in the Chippewa Valley with access to the highest level of surgical eye care, close to home.

His commitment to excellence has been recognized nationally. Dr. Harvey is a multi-year recipient of the Castle Connolly Top Doctors award and a founding member of the Vanguard Ophthalmology Society. He currently serves as an officer on the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society National Board, contributing to the advancement of outpatient surgical standards across the industry.

Beyond his work at IVG, Dr. Harvey has organized numerous surgical mission trips around the globe, bringing sight-restoring procedures to communities with limited access to eye care.
